If you have been on an Alpha Course, Business Alpha or Alpha in the Workplace, you will be glad to know about the City Harvest Network.

The City Harvest Network is a group of people who know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour and who actively, through prayer and personal testimony, labour to bring others to know the salvation and joy of meeting Jesus.

We do this through setting up platforms like the Alpha Course, Business Alpha, Alpha in the Workplace and through Bible Studies and other means.

This group of people is associated with a variety of churches and Christian groups. Their common interest is in their love for Christ and a desire to see others come to know Him

Since beginning in 1996, the City Harvest Network, in partnership with North Shore Christian Centre, Chatswood, has conducted 32 Alpha Courses. A burgeoning group of people keen to bring others to Christ has grown out of this activity over the years. At North Shore we are often referred to as the Harvest Team.

From the year 2000 and beyond the network has developed many associates with other churches in the CBD of Sydney and in Melbourne. As a result, multiple numbers of Business Alpha Courses are being run in the boardrooms, canteens and even in hotels and restaurants as people seek to bring those who are struggling with the Questions of Life to discover the reality of God's plan of salvation.

The Network has had its origin at North Shore Christian Centre, but it now consists of believers who are connected all over Australia who are faithful to live godly lives and who seek to bring others to a saving relationship with Christ.

The Network is not an organisation as such. It is a network of Christian believers who want to know Christ more and who want to encourage one another in their Christian walk and work towards the extension of Christ's kingdom.

Conserving the Fruits of Evangelism

When people come to Christ a nurturing process is necessary in order to see them grow fully in the Lord. St Paul spoke about wanting to bring each person he saw come to faith to a point of maturity (Colossians 1:28 -29). He wanted to present each one to God in this state.

Therefore, those of us who are linked with the City Harvest Network, regardless of the church we belong to, want to see each new believer in Jesus to come to the place where he/she decides to make Him Lord of their lives. This is the best way of describing what it is for the new believer to grow in grace to the point where they actively choose to become a disciple of Jesus.
